Nitin is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Feeva, leading customer and partner relationships, and corporate strategy. Nitin has more than 25 years of experience in the development of products, technologies and services for wireless and Internet communications and has 15 issued patents.
Nitin received his B.A. and M.A. in Natural Sciences and his Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Cambridge in England. Nitin also studied for an Executive MBA at the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh.
Don is Chief Privacy Officer and General Counsel of Feeva. He has the lead responsibility for data compliance and privacy at Feeva, interfacing with our customers, partners, regulators and privacy bodies as well as counsel duties.
Don has previously practiced general and appellate law in Arkansas, where he received his JD and MBA degrees. He received his Ph.D. in Marketing from Pamplin School of Business at Virginia Tech. Professional certifications include the CIPP (Certified Information Privacy Professional), CIPP/C (CIPP Canada) CHP (Certified HIPAA Professional) and CHSS (Certified HIPAA Security Specialist). He is a member of the American Bar Association, American Marketing Association and the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
Don regularly speaks on privacy issues and has authored several academic publications relating to marketing, privacy and intellectual property.
Miten Sampat is CTO of Feeva Technology Inc. He is responsible for product development, platform evangelism, and technology adoption with Feeva's customers and partners in the Internet Service Provider & the Online advertising ecosystems.
Prior to Feeva, Miten founded & led the SeeVT initiative at the Notification Systems Lab, Virginia Tech where he developed location based systems. Miten also worked at Reliance Communications where he helped develop mobile search applications.
Miten has a BS & MS in Computer Science from Virginia Tech, where he was awarded the Outstanding Graduate Student of the Year.
Jeff has 22 years of international business development experience in the mobile, communications, and data industries. Jeff currently serves as head of all Feeva Business Development responsible for structuring, negotiating, and closing deals with service providers, network equipment providers, media companies, and data providers essential to Feeva’s ecosystem.
Prior leadership experience includes a successful IPO (RKN), M&A operations, and Chief Operating Officer of HEROES a 501(c)3 NGO in Africa. Jeff has a B.A.Sc Honors in Systems Engineering, an EPGC diploma from Stanford Graduate School of Business, and is a Chartered Engineer in Europe.
EJ is a 20-year veteran of the telecom/wireless industry. EJ currently serves as Vice President, Strategic Alliances and Partnerships, creating the business relationships with service providers, media companies and data providers essential to Feeva’s ecosystem.
EJ served in various positions within AT&T & Lucent including finance, product management, marketing and business development. He also has strong international business experience in the Wireless Communications Technology sector, derived from experience gained while he served as CFO of Lucent Technologies wholly owned subsidiary, Wireless Communication and Networking Division, located in the Netherlands.
Mike has a deep history in online advertising, starting with managing Infoseek’s (sold to Disney) top advertiser (Microsoft); CBS SportsLine (Sold to Viacom); Epylon (Sold to Accenture); College411 (sold to StudentAdvantage); ExpertCity (Sold to Citrix); and most recently as Director of Business Development at AudienceScience, the leader in behavioral targeting.
Mike has a broad understanding of the online ecosystem from data management to brand demographics. With several successful start-ups under his belt, Mike is continually on the cutting edge of technology and looking for new ways to drive innovation within the industry.
Rupert is Vice President of Product Management for Feeva Technology. He manages Feeva’s product roadmap and patent portfolio. He joined Feeva from AT&T where he had various roles in Emerging Product Development, Business Development, Venture Capital, Corporate Strategy and R&D.
Rupert received his MS and BS from MIT in Computer Science.
David is responsible for the overall growth of Feeva's global infrastructure and keeping production systems running smoothly around the clock.
Prior to Feeva, David was at Loudcloud, Pacific Bell/SBC Communications, and TRU IP Consulting architecting and designing highly-available web infrastructure, networking, managed services, and automation solutions for enterprise customers.
Charles Giancarlo joined Silver Lake in 2007 as a Managing Director. Mr. Giancarlo has over 25 years of experience in the communications industry. A senior executive at Cisco Systems from 1993-2007, Mr. Giancarlo most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer of Cisco and President of Cisco-Linksys, leading the company’s overall product development and management activities. As Chief Development Officer, Mr. Giancarlo directed the activities of half of Cisco’s employees, and was directly responsible for Cisco’s expansion into a large number of new markets and technologies. His first position at Cisco was Vice President of Business Development, where he developed Cisco’s merger and acquisition strategy and practice. Mr. Giancarlo joined Cisco when the company acquired Kalpana, Inc., the pioneer in Ethernet switching, where he was Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Development. Prior to joining Cisco, Mr. Giancarlo founded four communications equipment companies and successfully sold two of them to larger companies. Mr. Giancarlo holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Brown University, an M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and an M.B.A. from Harvard University.
Richard ranks among the original Chief Privacy Officers in the United States, having created the position at Microsoft in the late '90's. He has become a leading voice in addressing consumer privacy and data protection, domestically and internationally.
As Microsoft's privacy officer, Mr. Purcell designed, developed, implemented and oversaw one of the world's largest and most advanced privacy programs, spanning software development, Web deployment, infrastructure management, workforce management, and consumer data handling practices. He developed and monitored a distributed team of privacy managers throughout the corporation and its global subsidiaries. Mr. Purcell was a leading advocate of the Platform for Privacy Preferences, or P3P, publicly committing Microsoft's support in 2000 and working closely with the Internet Explorer development team on incorporating the specification into IE v6.
In 2003, Mr. Purcell left Microsoft to form Corporate Privacy Group, an independent privacy consulting firm focused on establishing sustainable, affordable privacy programs in corporations, agencies and institutions. Privacy Directions™, a training curriculum for corporations designed to institutionalize privacy awareness, practices, and compliance throughout their organizations is a notable early offering.
Mr. Purcell previously served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for TRUSTe, an independent trust authority for privacy on the Web. In 2005, Mr. Purcell was appointed to the Department of Homeland Security's Data Privacy and Integrity Advisory Committee. Mr. Purcell advises Fortune 100 corporations, leads privacy training seminars, and lectures extensively.
He is a member and former director of the Int'l Association of Privacy Professionals, or IAPP, and sits on their Advisory Board for Privacy Certification. He was a founding member of the Conference Board's Council of Chief Privacy Officers and served on the Federal Trade Commission's Advisory Committee on Online Access and Security.
Richard has presented at a wide variety of privacy events, including the annual conference of the Int'l Data Protection Authorities, the IAPP Privacy Academy, FTC privacy workshops and many others.
Rishad Tobaccowala serves as a key component of the VivaKi executive management board, where he oversees innovation and reinvention efforts across all VivaKi brands, including: Denuo, Digitas, Razorfish, Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) and ZenithOptimedia.
Prior to his current role, Tobaccowala was CEO of Denuo – a Publicis Groupe company that invents, inspires and instigates new forms of creativity to help brands meet challenges of modern marketplaces.
Tobaccowala has also served as the Chief Innovation Officer of Publicis Groupe Media and was the founder and President of SMG Next, the first and most comprehensive futures practice in the media industry. The development of SMG Next resulted in the launch of several successful practices for SMG including: SMG Play, the first company to leverage videogames as a marketing platform; word-of-mouth practice Reverb; and Digits, a leader in mobile marketing. Tobaccowala was also responsible for developing SMG Search, a dedicated unit of SMG that specializes in leveraging search applications in new ways.
Before conceptualizing SMG NEXT, Tobaccowala was president and founder of SMG IP, the digital arm of SMG. As such, he played a central role in the agency, which was selected by Media in 2002 and 2004 as Interactive Agency of The Year.
In 1993, Tobaccowala formed Leo Burnett’s Interactive Marketing Group. Between 1996 and 1999, he served as the President of Giant Step, Leo’s interactive agency.
Tobaccowala was named by BusinessWeek as one of the top business leaders for his pioneering innovation (2005), and TIME magazine dubbed him one of five “Marketing Innovators.” He was appointed to Advertising Age's Interactive Hall of Fame; named Adweek's 2000 Media All-Star for Interactive Media; and honored by OMMA as a Media Strategist All-Star in 2005. In 2008, he was named an industry legend by Ad Color, and in 2009, conferred an Industry Achievement award at ad:tech for long-term dedication and industry service.
In addition to the VivaKi board, he serves on the board of directors for leading behavioral marketing firm Audience Science, distributed media network Snap (an Idealab Company) and Recycle Bank. He also serves as an advisor to a broad range of companies, including Feeva, Greycroft Partners, House Party, Marketshare Partners, My6Sense, Viewpoints, Visible Measures and the Berlin School of Creative Leadership.
Tobaccowala holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Bombay and an M.B.A. from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago.
